Matchday 1
Delhi United 2: 1 City fc
Opening games have never been easy for us — and this one followed the same pattern.
We huffed and puffed without much rhythm, lost possession cheaply, got dragged into unnecessary duels, and made things far harder for ourselves — just like we tend to do at the start of most tournaments and leagues.
We conceded first through an avoidable mistake inside the penalty area.
Pooja instead of clearing an aerial ball, slipped and gifted the ball straight to their forward, who made no mistake with the finish.
However, to our credit, we fought back.
We started to see more of the ball and played with greater intensity. Just before halftime, we grabbed an important equaliser that shifted the momentum in our favor.
The second half saw us dominate possession, but clear-cut chances were still hard to come by.Midway through the half, the opposition went down to 10 players a
Matchday 2
Delhi United 17: 0 Ahbab fc
One of the most comprehensive wins in our team’s history!
It was such a one-sided affair that after this match, the opposition team decided to withdraw from the league.
(Considering they lost 19–0 before facing us, and then 17–0 against us, it’s not hard to see why.)
There isn’t much to note tactically — but two moments truly stood out:
Neelam, just 13 years old, bagged a brilliant hat-trick, showing poise and finishing well beyond her years.
Bindu, only 12 years , bossed the midfield with maturity and composure far ahead of her age, barely putting a foot wrong.
The goal of the day belonged to Neelam:
She raced behind the defense down the left side of the penalty area, and just as the onrushing defender lunged in, she toe-poked the ball past the goalkeeper — a clever and composed finish.
Almost all our players — apart from the defenders — got on the scoresheet, which will surely boost their confidence heading into tougher matches ahead.
Matchday 3
Delhi United 6: O Eimi Heroes
Another day, another statement win!
Despite a slow start for the third game running, the Delhi United girls turned on the style to cruise to a commanding 6–0 victory over Eimi Heroes. Truth be told, it could have been a lot more if we’d made the most of our chances!
At the back, Reshu had a quiet afternoon — apart from some cool sweeping work outside her box, she barely had to break a sweat.
Up front, it was the Shanti Show!
Our young star netted her first-ever carerr hattrick , and what a way to do it! Three brilliant strikes — one with her left, two with her right, and a special third from outside the D that flew into the net.
But the goal of the day?
Somni put on a piece of magic — a silky dribble at the top of the D, before smashing a left-footed rocket into the top corner. The Eimi Heroes goalkeeper could only watch as it flew past her!
Tejaswini and Ambika also got themselves on the scoresheet, rounding off what was a near-total domination from the first whistle to the last.
That’s three wins in a row now, and we sit proudly at the top of the league standings
The journey continues — and we’re just getting started!
Match Report 4
Delhi United 3–1 Royal Rangers
Delhi United extended their perfect run with a 3–1 win over Royal Rangers—our fourth consecutive victory. With seven games remaining, we sit firmly at the top of the Delhi Women’s Premier League and continue to establish ourselves as one of the most fluid and coherent teams in the league.
We started with intent, dominating possession and progressing cleanly through the thirds. The opening goal reflected that rhythm—Reshu initiated the move from the back, with Manisha, Ambika, Narte, and Somni combining fluently in one- and two-touch passes. The ball was switched to Harshita on the right, who played into Somni. She found Tejaswini between the lines, and the striker released the winger in behind. A low cross followed, and Ambika arrived to finish with calm precision.
Lalita nearly created a second shortly after, beating her marker and delivering across goal—but there was no one at the far post. The second goal came just past the half-hour mark. A quick transition starting from Reshu again saw the ball played vertically into the striker, who laid it off to Ambika. A first-time pass found Somni, who released Lalita on the right. She cut inside and finished neatly with her left foot—her first of the match.

Delhi United 1 – 0 Sudeva Delhi
This was a tough encounter where we ultimately triumphed with a narrow 1-0 win. We started well, controlling proceedings with our usual passing game from left to right. However, the numerous potholes on the ground disrupted our passing fluidity. It must be noted that the opponents were far fitter, better organized, and more resolute compared to the four teams we faced earlier. Their coach, familiar with our style after facing us previously in Anantpur and Chiplun, had prepared her side well, making things difficult for us.
In the opening twenty minutes, we dominated possession without creating any clear-cut chances. Early on, a through ball from the center released Ambika, who timed her run excellently but was incorrectly ruled offside. Tejaswini also had an opportunity inside the penalty area but hesitated to shoot, allowing a defender to dispossess her. The highlight of the first half came when Pooja played a brilliant line-breaking ball from the defensive third over their backline, setting Shanti free on the left wing. Shanti took the ball in her stride, cut inside, but unfortunately fired over the bar – a wonderful move nonetheless.
The best chance of the half, however, fell to our opponents. A loose shot ricocheted off Anuragini, and when Pooja’s clearance mishit, the ball fell kindly for the opposition attacker, who thankfully missed wide. We survived a major scare.
Early in the second half, Somni broke the lines from a throw-in and reached the byline but her cutback narrowly missed finding Tejaswini, who was free in the box. Shortly before our opening goal, another nervous moment saw a floated set-piece into our area fall to an opposition player, whose shot kissed the upright before falling kindly to our goalkeeper Reshu.

Delhi United 0: 4 Garwal United
Our first defeat in a while — and a deserved one. I take responsibility for the tactical misjudgment. Instead of pressing high and disrupting their build-up, I opted for a mid-block to contain their pace and direct approach. Unfortunately, that plan backfired. It was only in the last 10 minutes, when we switched to a high press, that we showed some life and created pressure.
We conceded early from a routine corner. Their center-back was left unmarked at the back post and finished with ease. Moments later, we had a golden chance to equalize — Tejaswini beat their high line and even the goalkeeper, but her touch took her too wide, and the chance was gone. Shanti also broke through down the left but couldn’t find a teammate in the box with her cross.
Though we had spells of possession, it lacked purpose. Our right wing was unused for most of the match, and we struggled to create clear-cut chances. The opposition wasn’t threatening either, but just as halftime approached, a costly mistake changed the game. A misplaced back pass from our central midfielder went straight to their striker. Although her shot was blocked, the rebound fell kindly to their attacking midfielder, who finished at the near post. From a manageable 1-0 deficit, we suddenly found ourselves 2-0 down at the break. Concentration lapses in midfield cost us dearly.
The second half began in similar fashion. A long ball behind our fullback led to their winger finding space, and she squared it for a simple tap-in. The fourth goal was a gift — a routine ball spilled by our goalkeeper fell straight to their forward. At 4-0, the damage was done.
Match Report 7
Hans Capital 0 – 5 Delhi United
Scorers: Lalita, Ambika, Rankita, Tejaswini, Brijkumari
Player of the Match : Rankita
We bounced back in style from our previous defeat, putting on a commanding performance to beat Hans Capital 5–0 . It was a composed and professional display, with five different players involved in the scoring and a standout showing from substitute Rankita, who earned the Player of the Match honours.
The opening half-hour saw us dictate possession, moving the ball confidently across the pitch. While we lacked tempo in the early phases, our control was never in doubt. Ambika came close with a sharp run and shot, but it was after the water break that the breakthrough finally came.
A tactical switch saw the wingers swap flanks, which paid off instantly. Lalita played a perfectly timed pass between the lines to Tejaswini, who laid it off for Lalita’s continued run. The midfielder showed quick feet to weave between two defenders and finish coolly for the opener.
With confidence restored, we began to increase the tempo. Though Somni and Lalita missed chances to extend the lead before the break, the signs of attacking fluidity were clear. At halftime, the scoreline stood at 1–0, though the margin could have been greater.
The second half began with a high press that immediately rattled Hans Capital. A defensive error gifted the ball to Somni, who played a sharp through ball to Ambika. The forward rounded the goalkeeper and slotted home to make it 2–0.
Substitutions followed, with Rankita and Brijkumari introduced—and both made instant impacts. Rankita scored the third, weaving past her marker and seeing her shot deflect off a defender into the net. The fourth arrived via Tejaswini, who hit the post after being slipped in by Rankita. Lalita’s follow-up was blocked, but Tejaswini was alert to bury the rebound.
