Hemlata, a 24-year-old from Jhandatola village, was raised in a rural agricultural family with limited opportunities. Before joining Mrida, she struggled to access quality education and had no clear vision for her future. But with Mrida’s support, Hemlata discovered football—and with it, a new path. She received assistance in education, training, and health, gaining life skills, improving her well-being, and building confidence.

Football became more than a sport—it was a catalyst for change. It empowered Hemlata to break barriers and dream bigger. Today, she envisions a future where she pursues higher education and helps other children access quality learning. Her journey is a testament to how structured support can transform lives.

Hemlata is now a school teacher and girls’ warden with Mrida. Her earnings support her sister’s education, fund medical treatment for her mother, and have enabled her to build a pucca house for her family. Her story reflects how Mrida nurtures talent and builds human resources in rural communities.

She joined our Student Work Program, where selected students are given defined tasks to build responsibility and skills. By her second year, Hemlata was already earning through her contributions. Through on-the-job training, she gradually took on more responsibilities—proof that rural children, when given structured opportunities, can grow into dependable professionals.

Hemlata played a vital role in the functioning of our hostel and prepared herself for life beyond it. Recently, she received a government position as an Anganwadi teacher in her home village of Jhandatola. Her farewell was emotional for all of us. Watching her step into this new role reminded us why we invest in training students—because one day, they return to their communities as role models, teachers, and changemakers.

Alongside Hemlata’s journey, others like Rohit Sarote, who now coaches at Mrida, show how the cycle continues: students become mentors, and the ecosystem of learning and opportunity grows stronger every year.
