Our school proudly clinched three out of the top six spots in a highly competitive final round, where 10 teams presented their groundbreaking projects. This remarkable feat underscores the dedication, creativity, and hard work of our students and mentors.
About Their Projects:
Each team crafted innovative solutions addressing key themes of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Their projects demonstrated the power of coding combined with critical thinking to tackle real-world challenges:
- Bhubneshwari Vishwakarma & Mukti Tumrachi focused on Clean Water & Sanitation, creating a project that highlights sustainable water management and sanitation practices.
- Narendra Parte & Ankit Dhurwey addressed Quality Education, presenting a solution that enhances educational access and quality for underserved communities.
- Rajeshwari Dhumaste & Manoti Paraste worked on Zero Hunger, developing an innovative approach to combating hunger and ensuring food security.
About the CEL Kids Hackathon:
The CEL Kids Hackathon is an event aimed at fostering critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and perseverance in children from grades 4-9 through the power of coding.
About Mrida:
We run a high quality residential schooling program for tribal first generation learners where we emphasize excellence in sports, academics and programming. Currently, we work with a total of 300 students, of which 150 are in the residential program with us. We conduct dedicated programming sessions for our students, taking them from the basics of computing to Scratch programming to Python and other programming languages. These winners, are first-generation learners whose first and only exposure to computing has been with Mrida.
Our Commitment:
At Mrida, we are dedicated to placing tribal children on career pathways by emphasizing excellence in sports and technology alongside basic education. Our mission is to ensure that by the age of 21, our students are employable, capable of providing for their families, and serve as role models within their communities. We thus encourage holistic development through the avenues of academics, sports and technology.
