Our current location in Mohgaon (taluka) currently lacks higher academic options, and we recognize the challenges that this can pose for our students seeking to pursue their studies. With the establishment of this new hostel, our students will have the opportunity to seek higher education in nearby cities, enabling them to access a wider range of academic programs and opportunities. The hostel’s location in a safe and serene environment will provide students with a comfortable and conducive atmosphere for study, as well as access to a range of amenities. Sports Extension Programs (Leagues /Trainings )

Mrida Education and Welfare Society is expanding its football program, the Narmada Valley Football Program, to reach out to more children in new villages and districts with the help of the government. This initiative is expected to benefit over 3000 children this year. The primary focus of the program is to build a robust sports structure in all primary government schools with a special emphasis on football. The program includes extensive training sessions and tournaments to encourage children to develop their skills and talents. To achieve this, we will also develop infrastructure in the villages to support sports and offer scholarships to children with prospects. Moreover, we aim to develop a pool of trainers within the government to ensure the sustainability of the program. With these efforts, we can positively impact the lives of many children and promote the importance of sports in their overall development. For further information regarding our expansion program or if you wish to contribute your valuable experience and time or make donations towards infrastructure development, please do not hesitate to contact us at in**@mr***.com. We welcome your support and appreciate your interest in our cause.

Building our own Space

We would like to bring to your attention that in the year 2019-20, we were able to acquire a 4 acre plot of land in Imligohan for our organization’s permanent premises. However, we regret to inform you that due to a lack of funds, we have been unable to start the construction. As our children grow up, the need for a permanent infrastructure has become pivotal for us with dedicated hostels for girls and boys along with sports facilities. We believe that providing a high-quality ground for our children is crucial for them to develop their skill sets to be able to play at the highest level, in a region like this that lacks strong role models.
The total project cost is Rs. 5 crore, spread over 3 stages. For the first stage, we need Rs. 2.31 crore that will help us build the girls hostel ground floor, a football ground and basic accommodation for staff. Over time, this campus will serve 300 tribal girls and boys, emerging as a center of excellence for sports-based education and livelihoods in the region.

New Admissions 2023-24!

March and April are also months to identify new children who can join us. This year, we are planning to welcome 40 new children into the hostel, taking the total strength or our institution to 300 children that includes 160 boarders and 140-day scholars.
Identifying new children is a process that starts during the Baby League itself that sees participation of children as young as 6-7 years. We monitor their progress through the League and prepare a list of these children. In addition, this year, we are also in touch with few organizations and schools in Anuppur and Dindori districts to offer admissions to deserving tribal girls.
Once the list of potential children is ready, our team visits their families to check their economic and social background and assess how needy they are. All of this is documented through photographs and questionnaires. A preliminary decision is made based on these and children are invited to school for a second round of assessment that checks for academic and sports aptitude. Once we have all of this data, we prepare the final list of children who are then invited along with their parents. We ensure that parents/guardians have full understanding of what we do and only then get the child admitted.
Serving the neediest is the fundamental basis of our work. This long but thorough process helps us stick to this and do the best we can for the children in our institution.

Mrida's first batch of students write their Class 10 Board Exams

Our institution’s inaugural cohort of 16 students recently completed the Madhya Pradesh Board 10th standard exam, which took place from March 1st to March 20th, 2023. This was our first batch of class 10. It was a special experience to see them grow up. The milestone achievement is proof of the dedication and hard work of our learners. It also reflects the unwavering commitment of our faculty who have been supporting and guiding them since 2016.
Preparation for this important examination was undoubtedly challenging, and the anxiety leading up to it was palpable. Despite the additional difficulties posed by the 41 km journey from Mohgaon to the exam center, our students persevered and demonstrated remarkable resilience.
The experience of sitting for the board exam was a significant achievement in itself, and one that we are proud to have supported our students through. We eagerly await the results and look forward to celebrating our students’ accomplishments.
Growing up in Mumbai, Bangalore or any other city, one often takes for granted things like access to medical care, good educational and job opportunities and even a certain level of human resources. Almost 130 km from the nearest city (Jabalpur) in MP, our work is an attempt to create role models and excellence in a region that has not experienced it.
Your support has been valuable throughout this journey, and we hope that it continues in the future, too. We hope you enjoyed learning about our recent activities and events and request you to support our work. If you are interested in volunteering (~4 hours/week), please contact us at in**@mr***.org
If you have ideas, suggestions or feedback on our work, we will be happy to hear that as well.

Thank you for reading. See you next time.
